I just recently bought some swaybar disconnects so that I can get better wheel travel. But I am having touble installing them. For some reason the end links (swaybar endlinks) will not come off. I remove all of the nuts, but nothing. I can get the bottom one undone, but for some reason the top one is stuck. I removed the nut and the cotter pin, but it will not even budge with a crow bar. Am I missing something. Any insight would be appreaciated.

I had the same problem with mine. If you can get ahold of a "pickle fork" or tie rod end separator, place the fork side at the rear of the connector and give it a few good whacks with a big hammer, eventually it will come off. Make sure to soak it good with PB blaster or wd-40. Good luck! ------------ Andrew Hopper at 6/30/2000 10:03:57 PM

Sorry about the last reply. To quick with the enter key :) Prolly the easiest way to get the flared side off is this. Take a 5lb. sledge and rest it against the back side of the sway bar link (bar over the stud). The with a clean angle, hit the other side a couple of times. The impact will pop the link off after a few swings. This works for any type of flared stud setup, ie. tie rods, drag links, and so on. Hope that helps.

I had to use a Pickle fork and the sledgehammer. So did my brother, and both of our Jeeps had very very little oxidation.
