does anyone know if the 5 speed 545FRE cherokee tranny is any better than the 42RE 4 speed? and if it would bolt up to a 4.0L?

Its much stronger, larger servos, stronger clutch packs etc., it will not bolt up to a 4.0L, totally different bell housing and bolt pattern , unless you have Novak or Advanced Adapters make you a bellhousing adapter, as one is currently not avialable. Its also controlled differently and your computer from the 4.0L wouldn't be able to shift it correctly.
