When starting my wrangler, their is excessive cranking before it turns over. Like the fuel is not getting sent to the engine right away. If I crank for a few seconds, stop and crank it agin it always turns over. After it starts I'll turn it off and wait a minite and start it up with no problem. If I wait for 5 the cranking starts all over again. Out of ideas hope someone can help me out there..

hey have you done a fuel pressure test on it yet. Don't hold me to it but i am confindent that the fuel pressure would be low. Probally caused by a bad fuel pump. look into a fuel pressure test.

JeepBro - Danny is on to something here. You can install a cheap in-line fuel pressure gauge for under $20 or $30.

Also, you may want to check your ground wires that leasd to your fuel injection (if you have it), your ignition system and so forth. I've seen bad ground wires cause all sorts of weird problems.

i just thought of one more thing i don't know if this is the same for jeep as it is for GM models though. the thing is that there is a relay that is connected to the fuel pump and this relay can sometimes go bad. this means your electronic fuel pump wont work. and after cranking on it for a while the engine sees that the fuel pump isn't working and it goes into an over ride mode where it uses the oil pressure to run the fuel pump to start the engine. i am not sure about this though it is just what i have heard from my auto teacher.
