| I recently purchased a new Dodge pickup to replace my GMC. I have a 22 ft. 5th wheel trailer. When I bought it the dealership installed the hitch in the GMC on top of the drop in bed liner. Under the rails they used little pieces of rebar to transfere the load through the bed and into a special bracket that attached to the frame. When I bought the new truck , I took it to another trailer dealer closer to home and they said that it was dangeous to do that and insisted that I cut my bed liner out to install the hitch rails. Any suggestions???? Who's right? |

The best way to work this is to remove the slide in bed liner and have a sprayed in bedliner installed. This will keep the integrity of the hitch mounting system intact and makes for cleaner installation. Good luck
