I bought a 2002 Dodge Ram-1500 in Nov 01 and for the past month I've experienced tranny problems. It feels like it is slipping out of gear along with a hard clunking sound. I have also experienced the vehicle refusing to go into overdrive. The truck will shut-off, example I was pulling out of a parking lot and it turned itself off. The vehile has done this numerous times, even after dealership rebooted the computer system. The vehicle has been to the dealership a minimum of six times and they have as to date found the problem. I also expressed to the dealship that the truck is a lemon and they conviently pushed me passed the Lemon Law statute of limitations. Has anyone experienced these problems, please respond as soon as possible.

bad news for you...i own a dodge...transmissions are junk...do not replace it, have it rebuilt the right way...dodge wants to stick another junk tranny in there, find a performance shop to recommend a good tranny builder...it may cost a little extra, but well worth it ------------ CORY LANE at 3/20/2003 7:07:06 PM

We have a fleet of 10 Dodge Rams. We have 5 1500 bought in 2000, 2 2500HD bought in 2000, 1 1500HD bought in 2002, and we just purchased 3 2500HD this year. We have never had a problem with any of them except the 2002 1500HD, the damn thing has been at the dealership more than it's been in the feild working. The Transmission will slip and do a clunking noise every time you hit the gas pedal. The dealership put a pressure regulator on the transmission and told us it would solve our problems. "IT DIDIN'T"... It also make's a clunking nose out of the rear pumpkin, and it also just dies out of the blue when you are letting it idle. The Dodge Brand is a great truck but it pisses me off when the dealership tells me there is nothing wrong with it, when I know it's not suppose to make does noises aswell as die on idle, it only has 11,000 miles. My other 1500's drive better than this brand new truck does and they don't have these problems. If anyone knows anything about this problem of mine please give me a reply. ------------ Robert D. I also am having problems with my 2002 ram 1500. At times I step on the gas and the engine roars but the truck barely moves. I have been to the dealership 3 times now and they tell me the truck is fine. I am fed up, but what can I do. ------------ CORY LANE at 3/20/2003 7:07:06 PM

If you had the minimum requirement of times for the same problem within the first year of purchase and had taken the vehicle into the shop then you probably still have a chance to make a claim. Do not talk with the idiots at the dealer. My buddy made his way up to the reqional general manager for dodge in CA. before he could get this done and all he had the "check engine" light that was coming on. It will not be easy but you have to shoot for the top and try the better business bureau as well as the FTC (Federal Trade Commission), good luck. ------------ CORY LANE at 3/20/2003 7:07:06 PM
