I own a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4. Within the past week I would be driving down the street listening to the radio and all of a sudden the radio would cut out, the door locks would engage, and all the needles on the panel would drop and then less than a second later, it would all come back on again and a light on the panel reading 'O/D Off' would come on. It did this about two times within the past week, but the check engine light came on and stays on. Any suggestions on what might this be. I would appriciate any suggestions on this.

I've seen this before, especially near graveyards, at night, and while picking up a hitchhiker with a large, over-stuffed duffle bag. ;)

Something electrical has certainly gone awry and it sounds like a major short or a bad ground in the system.

If the check engine light is on then it should be throwing a code. Go to autozone or a place like that and see if they can read it for you.
