| Any ideas what would make the transfer case in my '98 Dodge Ram 2500 pop out of 4 Lo when ever the truck hits a bump? If I get a little hop from axle wrap or from hitting a hole, it pops right out of 4 Lo. Truck has 130K miles and I am the 4th owner. When I changed the fluid in the T-case a little while ago, the ATF looked normal and there was no evidence of metal or sludge. Linkage does not appear bent or excessively worn. |

Is it a lever-type shifter on your truck, or an electronic-push-button style?

Regardless of type it sounds like linkage because electric of manual the linkage controls the engagement of it and a bump shakes it enough to let it pop out. Check linkage adjustment. |

| Sorry about taking so long to reply...been out of touch for a few days. It is a lever type shifter for the T-Case. I've got to see if there is some adjustment I can make for the 4-Low position. Thanks for your thoughts. |
