im new at this, i just bought a 2003 dodge ram 2500 and it wont go into 2h. i have a 6 inch lift on it. i heard that could be the problem. anyone have any ideas?

Do you mean that it's stuck in 4-wheel drive? Also, do you have a lever on the floorboard to put it into 4-wheel drive, or is it electrically actuated with a button / knob on the dash?

i have a manual lever on the floor. and yes, its stuck in four wheel drive

yes its stuck in four wheel drive and i do have a manual lever on the floor. it doesnt even go down far enough. it goes 4l, n, skips 2h, and is in 4h

Is 100% of your 6" lift suspension, or is there a body lift in there too?

Hmmm... my original thought was that a body lift would cause the linkage to be out of alignment. This may still be the case though, and I would start there. Have you tried backing up at about 5 m.p.h., popping the trans in neutral, and while it's rolling trying to pop it into 2Hi?

My guess at this point is that either the linkage is damaged/bent, or there is something wrong inside your transfer case, like a bent shift fork.

haha, so today i opened up the case where the stick is and there were 14 pennys and quarters stuck in there. they were blocking the stick. after i took them out it went into 2h, but now my 4h doesnt lock. ill put it in 4h and start driving and if i hit a bump it will slip into 2h. i guess i cant have it all.Thread:[/b]
