Ive noticed that my ride isn't the smoothest on street. i have 3 more leaf springs that my friends truck, and his is smooth. is this the problem

most likely, yes. Unless you have a custom-made leaf pack that is super soft... A good rule of thumb (but not always 100% accurate), is that the more leafs you add to the pack, the stiffer the ride. This also means less height (typically), and less hauling capacity (typically).
