I have an 83 Ramcharger, 318, 2bbl., some kind of computer on the air cleaner.
Just recently, all of a sudden, started dying when taking off from a stop. Once you get it going, it seems to run fine. Also, if I shut it off - get back in it to go somewhere (while it's still hot) it acts like it's vapor locking, doesn't want to run, until after I drive it (sputtering) down the road for a couple of minutes. Then it's fine again - except for the stalls at takeoff. Thanks for any help!

It may be a fuel delivery problem, floats sticking when the fuel evaporates when hot.
I have struggled with mine, '86 ramcharger, and have done everything short of replacing the computer, it is in the fender on mine. I plan a "lean burn ectomy" ASAP. Seems to be the only way to get those things running right, albeit, not legal. All of these trucks do this at some time or other. If someone had a "cure" they would make a mint.
Good luck.------------
