| I purchased my Dodge Ram a year and a half ago and have put about 40000 highway miles on it. The front end seems very loose and unstable. Steering is loose and truck seems to bounce around on the highway. Any solutions or suggestions to resolve this. Thanks. |

Try checking the track bar. I replaced mine with a longer one because I have 8" lift. The original bar was lengthened but when it started going bad, the truck had what everyone calls a "death woble". This is when the front end of the truck moves side to side vigerously. I have heard of it going bad on stock trucks and it makes the truck feel very loose on the road. It feels as though you have nothing to hold the front axle in place.

We have a 4 x 4 2500 Dodge "2000". The front end has be unsafe.....the truck wanders without cause....we did change the steering gear, no luck. Changed the steering shaft.with one from a racing parts house....that helped but still not safe. It cuts tires bad..several sets of very high line tires an front end alignments still not safe. Won't buy another but no one will admit to this problem...we reported it to the "Safety vehicle center " We upgrade that report every year.... |
