2008 4X4REVIEW.COM READER’S RIDES CALENDAR

That’s right folks, now you too can have YOUR RIG featured in the 2008 4X4REVIEW.COM wall calendar!

Post your hi-resolution pictures to this thread (files should be 3 meg in size or smaller) and if it’s of high-quality, we’ll include it FREE! Calendars will go on sale near the first of January for about $16.99 and we’ll announce it here. We’ll also put a link up on the web site too. Here’s a sample of what it will look like.

If we get enough pictures, we’ll take a vote, here on the forums to see who gets included. If we have too many of them, we may create a second (or a third) calendar.

RULES: 1) Our overpaid lawyers tell us we can’t use any pictures that include your ugly mug (or anyone’s face for that matter) – something about “modeling” laws.

2) Your pictures MUST BE ORIGINAL! We can’t use any copyrighted pictures, pictures that other publications have used, or pictures your snagged off of some web site – no exceptions.

3) We won’t accept bribes or succumb to blackmail – but we will take large paper bags filled with fresh, non-sequential, unmarked Benji’s.

4) The pictures must be of an off-road vehicle (e.g. 4-wheel drive ATV, SUV, Truck, Tube-Buggy, Home-Grown rig, etc.).

5) We won’t use pictures of your rig with your ol’ lady sprawled out on the hood. Although, we will keep these for ourselves and post them on our wall of shame. The same goes for your hairy backside. 6) You must include the following information with your photo submission (This will be printed on the calendar with your picture): - a. Vehicle – Year, Make and Model (e.g. 1974 Jeep CJ6) - b. Owner – Your first and last name (e.g. Joey Bagodoughnuts) - c. Location – Where you and your rig call home - d. Coolest Mods – Keep it short! (e.g. 383 Stroker Motor, Vanilla-Roma air freshener, curb feelers)

7) Action photos rule – pictures of your rig sitting calmly in your driveway are about as apt to get in our calendar as Rosie O'Donnel is to get on a treadmill. Send us some great action shots of your junk on its side, slinging goo, jumping in the air and stuff like that.

8) All submissions must be turned in by December 15th.

9) If your picture is too big to upload (over 3 Megs), and you think it’s really worthy of a calendar spot, send it to rick@4x4review.com and we’ll give it the ol’ once-over.

THE LEGAL JUNK (They’re all important, but pay attention to number 1): 1) Upon submitting (uploading) your photo to this thread, you hereby grant non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free rights and usage to Tork Media Inc. (d.b.a. 4X4REVIEW.COM) for its sole and discretionary use. (In English: Once you send us a photo, we reserve the right to use it in our calendar, put our logo on it, alter it for fit and content, and do what we want with it. The picture is still yours, but we get to use it when and how we want to. If we decide to use this picture in the future for other use(s), we’ll attempt to contact you first).

2) We reserve the final right to decide what pictures make it to the calendar.

3) We reserve the right to alter any photos (photochop) for fit, content and the likes.

TIPS FOR INCLUSION: 1) Lighting – make sure the light is at your back. Shooting a great action shot directly into the sun doesn’t work so well.

2) Focus – ok Danielson, need I say more?

3) Stickers – if we can read stickers of our competition (other magazines or web sites), well… your chances just became nil, zip, nada.

4) Action – again, action shots are key here.

Got any nagging or burning questions? Let us know.

Now start uploading those photos!

Sincerely, The Staff at 4X4REVIEW.COM
