I have a '92 Explorer. The 4x4 will not engage. It makes no noise when button is pushed. I have checked the fuse marked as awd. Seems fine. Any suggestions?

Fellow next door had that problem. It was the actuator. He had corrosion on the shaft. He said he tapped it with a soft hammer and used some lubricant on it and eventually he got it working. He cycled the 4x4 in and out a few times and it has been working fine since. Hope this helps.
