That depends upon the bolt pattern on the transmission. There were a few years that Ford offered a 302 engine with a C6 transmission, but it had a different bellhousing than most other C6 transmissions. You'll have to take some measurements and see if it's the same or not.

Also, if your transmission isn't the right type, you can swap out the bellhousing and it will work, but you'll also have to change the torque convertor too.

Thanks for the info Rick. When you say swap out the bellhousing you mean the whole trans shell,ya Any C6 I have ever seen are complete shell, bellhousing is not removeable by itself. Are the matchable C6 hard to find or do you know who I could possibly contact? Thanks again...........................Rick

Sorry about that... You're right. The C6 has a 1-piece all-aluminum body / bell housing (except for the tail shaft, of course), like nearly every other popular automatic transmission.

The best I can tell though from some old notes I have, is that Ford did offer a 302 / C6 package (I think in some old dump trucks and such). I did read that there are some that will mate to a 302, but I don't know if all of them will.

You're welcome! (And welcome to the forums).

TCI Transmision is the is the first place I'd reach out to - they're one of the very best in the industry.

I just went to their web site and saw this page (all about c4's and c6's), and noticed that there are applications for the 302 / C6. http://www.tciauto.com/Products/Ford/ford_c4_c6.asp

Just to be safe, I'd call the guys up and ask the same question.

P.S. Be sure and post some photos of your rig.
