well i got an 1988 f150 custom with 351 windsor and dual exaust. it was my great grandpas till he just gave it to me.
well im planning on putting a body lift on it when i replace the body bushings and painting it myself after i put on the body lift. (i have a lil experience painting boats and motorcycles and im pretty sure i can pull off a good paint job)
well my question here is what do people do with the bumpers after its lifted. i dont think there are bumper brackets for this body lift kit. i can probably get someone to make me a bumper filler (or find a grill guard that will cover it), but if it looks alright with the gaps between the body and bumpers then i dont mind leavin it like it is. im mainly talking about the front bumper (im not really sure how its going to look with the lift). anyone have any ideas? |

| Get crafty and make some bumper brackets, box em and weld em to your frame horns. If done right, they will be just as strong as stock. |

thats a good idea (dont know why i didnt think of it.) . when i do the lift ill decide to either leave it how it is or make the brackets. ill just put on a bumper filler for the back bumper when im doing bodywork on the truck before i paint it. thanks chevy!
front bumper sits pretty low on this truck so i dont think ill have to worry much about the bumper height requirements, and im not going to move the back bumper because i have trailers and chances are im going to be towing a little, yeah sure some decent brackets would lift it and i would still be able to tow, but id rather have the bumper filler. |
