Good Luck. Those TTB trucks are not good candidates for lifts and like to eat tires too. IF you are real serious, you will dump the current front axle and swap in a solid one and then lift it.

You'll also have to re-gear your axles after your lift / swap, due to the larger tire size.
The solid axle swap isn't all that tough though (it's not as daunting as you might think), but be prepared to have your truck down for a few weeks if this is your first axle swap.

well, im considering only doing a 2" front lift, and putting 35" on it, but would i really need to swap my axles out? and change the gear ratio?

Gears, absolutely! You'll dog the engine, get horrible fuel mileage, and you'll roast your transmission in short order.
As far the axles go... two things will happen.
1) The added lift on the TTB causes camber issues, so your tires will start wearing out faster, and unevenly (cupping, most likely).
2) If you do any off-roading with it, and you get a tire hung up on something, then stab the gas... the next sound you'll hear will be KER-SNAP!. At best, you'll blow a hub, at medium, you'll blow a front u-joint, at worst you'll snap an axle.
Those TTB units were the pre-cursor to IFS suspension. They really don't take kindly to a suspenion lift at all, and they're notoriously weak.
Oh yeah... you'll end up blowing out the lower control arm bushings too. You can salvage those by running polyurethane, but eventually those will wear out as well.
Sorry... I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but TTB setups don't work all that well.

You are kinda pushing the envelope now with 33's on it for what it is worth. The drive axle design was not one of Fords "better ideas"
