| I'm putting a 305 in my '83 jeep. Does anyone have any suggestions for motor mounts? |

| Or put a AMC 304 or 360 in it as it is basically a bolt in. (a 304 was a option in a Jeep CJ for a while and it and 360 share same block) AMC standardized bolt pattern on engines in mid 70's so bell housing is the same. If you want a real sleeper you could even bolt in a AMC 401 and the nice thing about any of these swaps it is still a Jeep not a Veep, a Jhevy or Cheveep because AMC owned them then. Nice thing about AMC 360 is that even stock it has awesome lower RPM torque, better than a 350. |

Not that long ago as Chrysler closed deal in 90 and AMC controlled Jeep for close to 20 years and did more for Jeep while keeping it a Jeep than Chrysler ever did for it. It is a shame that they ever sold out to them. |

Fabbing your own motor mounts is very easy to do. I made mine about 8 years ago, and they've held up marvelously - no signs of wear and they're stout as all get out.
All you'll need is some .90 wall tubing, round rubber bushing (like those used on leaf springs), and flat plate. Of course you'll need a welder, torch (or plasma cutter, etc. to make them.

i agree w/ rick they are easy to do. i have done several w/ friends jeep.
im at the point where, i have very little time to make anything & to find the propper location so thats why i bought mine. tell you what that craddle
mount works great & even acts like a sub-frame.

| I unbolted the motor mounts from the '83 chevy i got the motor out of. I'm going to cut them down and bolt them back to the motor. I'll bolt the tranny to the trans case and then tack weld the mounts in place and unbolt the motor so i can get a good weld on the mounts. I'll keep you informed on how it goes. |
