Does anyone know what engine will fit a Rocky other than a 1.6FI or 1.3FI Charade. I want to go larger, such as a 6 cyl. Has anyone done it or know of any conversion kits on the market? Surely someone other than myself has wanted to try this and maybe even accomplished the feat.... thanks

Yes, but that is now only in 2wd format. He changed most of drive train. I know it probably wont help you Wayne as your in the states, but a guy in Australia put a GMH V6 3.8 ltr motor in, (this motor is based on a Buick V6) He also changed his drivetrain to all toyota gear. Also available in factory form for Daihatsu 4wds are 2.8 Diesel in naturally aspirated, turbo charged and intercooled turbo charged forms. However, these are for non USA Rockys, which are a different body style to the USA version of the Rocky. In Australia, the USA Rocky body style is called a Feroza. It comes in 1.6 ltr 4 cyl petrol model only. A bit of info for you. Cheers ------------ dogeatshouse at 1/20/2003 10:54:52 AM

His website says he went up a hill using only 2 wheel drive, but he is STILL using the transfer case and four wheel differentials. The only parts of the drivetrain he had to change was the older version of the transfer case and the springs and shocks. The engine is heavier after all.
