| Looking to buy a new vehicle soon and I have heard a lot of good thing about CRV. Any input about comfort ( Iam 6`1", 200lbs), gas mileage, and final negotiated cost without trade.
Not too concerned about 4 wheel drive, but maybe nice to have. |

CRV design fault rear diff housing is too thin and is easily holed.resulting in loss of fluid and burnt out of clutch pack. Resulting in thousands of bucks in repair bills. PS Honda won't cover this under warranty. |

Take a look a the new CRV's wow we ahave an old one, 2000, we love it,
I am going to put skid plates over rear gear box, thank for the info.
It not real thing 4x4, but if need be I beleive it will get the job done.
We put larger rims and tires, it look great. But the real issue is this RELIABILITY.....we are happy. |

The 2001 (2litre) CRV auto is the best city car I've ever owned. Good pickup, good auto, excellent visibility, easy to park. It's ok in the country, we tow a camper trailer. The driver's seat comfort is lousy over distance, upper back gets sore. 2L motor lacks low rev grunt on country hills when loaded, 2.4 should be much better.
For city driving I'd definitely buy another 97-01 model, but for long distance country driving I'd get the Subaru 2.5 Outback, or maybe the CRV 2.4 (2002).
