well i was up at the badlands with rick webster and mike batchelor in early august of this year. we had gone out for a weekend of wheeling and riding quads. we had been wheeling in the trucks all morning when we decided to go back and get the quads. the trails were really wet and we had fun getting stuck and what not, but then the temp light on my quad pops on. at first i thought i was low on coolant. so i check and it's full so i think nothing of it. so we stop to take a break because my quad was running hot agin and i here the elctric fans going on everybodys quad but mine. my fan was fried. so Rick had to tow my quad back to the camp site. it might not sound like a good trail ride but it was for me because this was the first time i had ever rode a quad by myself at an offroad park. i quickly learnd that sh * t happens on the trail and you have to learn to deal with it.

At least you had someone ther to help you out. A good rule is to never ride alone.

yea Rick's Quad is pretty sweet. his quad was able to tow mine through mud. the only problem we ended up with was that we got lost in the woods and couldn't find our way out.

Yeah, it was interesting trying to find out way out. To say the least. [)]

You know, a "GPS" would have taken all the fun away, don't you agree!

yeah, but sometimes it's nice to have the "adventuresome" side of it all.

The place is small enough that you really can't get lost, and to be honest, we weren't lost, we just could find a particular trailhead to take us out the way we came in. Not to split hairs anyhow. ;)

Yeah, that was a pretty good day of riding. As long as no one gets hurt even a bad day of riding is pretty much better than any other day.

Gee Dan... I wonder how you managed to get mud in your fan.

When you say badlands are you talking about Hungry Valley. My favorite ride is backbone to badlands. We ride every weekend. Not too much wheeling. Dont beat up the ride home.

Hi Scott - Badlands is the Badlands Off Road Park in Indiana (just off the border of Illinois and Indiana, near I70).

Which area are you talking about? Got any pics?

Rick
