I am in the process of replacing the Piston Rings on an Eiger 4 wheeler, It is a 4 stroke and the timing has to be set,  I have the new Rings in, the cylinder is on but i am not to sure how to set the timing. Can anyone help with this. I wanted to try to get this finished this week. I have purchased the Repair manual but it is very vage on what to do. Does any one have any Tips or suggestons. Do i need to remove the side cover of the motor? Is there some way to tell it is at top dead center other then looking at the piston? Or is this the only way. How do i put the CAM ? PLEASE HELP in a little over my head

Any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks in advance John
