Hi,

Just had a new battery put in my 2003 4Runner at the dealer. They said they found this diagnostic code B2221 but couldn't tell me what it was. When I got home I found my rear window won't go down with the key fob or using the key in rear door. It will go down using the buttons on the dashboard.

To me it seems too coincidental for this to occur immediately after the battery replacement. Can someone comment on that? I just paid $1000.00 for several 100k mile work items (timing belt, water pump) in addition to the battery and some other minor things.

Not looking forward to a $300-400 repair of this when it was working fine before it went to the dealer.

Thanks in advance for any answers!!!!

Remo

Ok. Good news. At first the dealer wanted to charge me a $100 diagnostic fee to look at this which I balked at. The resolution, as they explained it to me, was that after replacing the battery you have to do something to "reset" some indicator on all of the windows and sunroof, and the technician forgot to do whatever that is to the rear window. Off to pick it back up. If there are further issues / information I will post it here. Hopefully this will help someone in the future.
