I got lazy and overwhelmed with the task of completely rewiring my 1981 FJ40.  So I took it to a guy that specializes in Cruisers.  He put in a GM Painless Wiring Harness Kit.  He also sold me on the idea of a GM tilt steering column as well, so it plugs directly into the harness (maybe that's why he liked the idea so much.)  So half way through the project I swung by the shop to see the progress.  He pointed out to me that since GM's use the same circuit for the brake lights and tail lights, that the turn signals will work as normal, but when you hit the brake lights, the red and ambers will all light up.  I know this is something I could live with... and most people wouldn't be bothered by it.  But it does bother me.  I know there has to be a way around this funky dilemma.  I haven't traced out the wires yet, but I assume there should be a way to run the wires independently and bypass the painless harness fuse block somehow.  The mechanic is out of the picture, after he committed suicide.  Now it's up to me to puzzle together this incompleted project that has been collecting dust in the garage for two years now.

ANY IDEAS?  Or has someone already dealt with this?

I haven't deal with that type of problem since my Toyota car is just a few months old but I'm pretty sure some of the members here have been through the same situation. Anyway inspite of problems like yours, many still wanting to have their very own Toyota and I myself did my best just to find one while I was in Atlanata. I got the car I needed in Atlanta without any difficulties. It was easy when I got help from Sandy Springs Toyota. I knew I wanted a Toyota because they do not cost too much money and are reliable for everyday automobiles. I told the dealership every little thing that I needed, and the dealer made sure I was taken care of. I love my brand new car. At Sandy Springs Toyota you will get the best car purchasing experience possible. Go to Atlanta Toyota right now!
