Hi -
I have a couple of rattles/noises that seem to be coming from the drivers end of the truck. Truck has 35 k miles.
1. Above the steering column when you go into potholes or over bumps. It sounds like plastic vibrating over plastic. The dealer put some tape on the plastic covers to dampen the noise but its still annoying.
2. Where the bottom corner of the windshield meets the dash at the drivers end. This happens when you go into potholes or over bumps and it sounds like the join of the windsield and the dashboard is kinda loose.
3. Creak from the driver door around the general area of the hinge. Again this happens when you go into potholes or over bumps.
I plan to take it to the dealer to get it fixed but I was wondering if anybody had similar problems or had any thoughts. You would think that a 40K car would be better built than that.

| I also have a bad vibration/rattle in the dash area of my 2002 4runner. I am very frustrated with it as toyota has tried to fix it three times now. Sounds like the same problem you are having. Let me know if they find the answer for you. I'll keep in touch also. |
