| We purchased a 2002 diesel powerstroke 4x4 in August of 2002. The first week we drove it, the engine literally cut off when coasting onto the off ramp of I95 in VA. When we took it back to the dealership, they said no code, keep driving it, but replaced the sensor anyhow. It repeated the cutting off again in Sept. Took it back again. No code. It has done this 4 times since then. 3 of those times, it cut off completely (does not matter whether your foot is giving gas or not), then you hear it rev and restart. It is at a different dealership, no code. I am at a loss as what to do. Has anyone ever heard of this problem happening? I don't really want to go to arbitration, but the original dealership is less than cordial to me when I go there. They basically say too bad, keep driving it until we get a code. Thanks in advance. |

My 2001 F-250 did the same thing. The problem was the cam sensor. Apparently a number of 7.3 diesels are having a similar problem. It took the dealer about an hour to fix it and it has worked fine since.

I am having the same problem with my 2004 Harley f250. I am growing very concerned about the safety hazard this problem is creating while I drive. At times it will do it when I am in the middle of an intersection. Way Scary.
