its set up more for rock crawling. had a 8 inch bds for one season.
it was a real soft set up but, as i got to rocks instead of mud, i was to high. i rolled it several times. so now it has a 52 & 56 spring conversion.
it rocks. score over 1000 on a rti ramp. running 38.5 swampers, x steering,
home made ram asst. 1 tons. di4y weld on beadlocks. www.di4y.com
narrowed front clip, 12 point roll cage 1/2 inch wall, 12000 pound winch.
gonna start rock sliders, narrow the rear end, fuel cell or propane inj,
build a better front stinger w/ winch mount. maybe a rear stinger w/ spair tire carrier. hope fully this will happen during the off season if bird & deer season get in the way. |

| the spring conversion is cheap & will be as good or better then a four link
or coil over.
the only bad its you getta a lot of axle rap. so you gotta fab a wish bone
mount to cure that problem. it only takes a couple of heim joints, bushings &
some tube. |

| sound good!
I thought about 4 link F/R for the 8th mile sand drag's but not to famaliar
with the setup.,and changing for the diffrent hobby's I'm doing with it.mudding, hill climbing.articulatoin would probably be better but were I'm from I'm lucky to find a stump or 2 to play around on or get hung up on for a few minute's. rock's around here are about the size of softball's I just can't seem to get out of this state with out something coming up !@$* thing's for me.work is the main thing.I have alot of grave pit's around here, but tresspassing isn't to good ether.well guess I'll stick with what I have and have fun while i can.deer season start's oct.1 so I'm going to be busy with that for about 4 months. |

the only time i really get into it is when tha truck jamboree comes to tx.
i wear a big plastic yellow rain jacket it comes back black w/ hay & mulch from the mud bog. thank god for tear away gogle covers. |

| no top .I see why you stay away from the mud more often.I agree on the washing, but i think it's worth it.,but with the rain gear.I wouldn't want
all the crap on me ehter.
mono leaf kit they make for jeep's.do they make it for full size truck's.
I guess a freind is in the middel of installing the mono kit on his jeep as we chat.he say's he will have it done by next weekend.wish i could help gut he moved 250 miles away north of me. |

did you ever run the hydr assit by it self just for kick's with out the factoy
pitman arm/tierod's hooked up. just for kick's!! to see how it drive's.with out the factory steering!there would be no strain on the frame/steering arm.
just the long tierod.
would the ram by it self make it worst to steer?(bumpsteer)like the factory one does.between the 4 turn factory & the hydro steer 1 turn (other then pump pressure/turn ratios)they are they same in theory. the way I'm looking at it.
maybe it's wrong!!! don't know for sure. |

i was at the j-yard today and found a tierod setup off a 78 gmc that has a beefed up factory setup from nuckel to nuckel with a hole already in the long tie rod (driver's side).do you have one on the k5? it looked like a 1/4" bigger in diameter and the short tierod end (thread's) are way bigger then the old chevy one that i have. going to autozone to check it out,and see how much for the new one's are.I think like 200 buck's give or take for both tierod's. |

hydro steering box.from :tractor, boat.or some thing? was thing something like a frontend loader steering.or even like 28 foot up boat w/ hydro steer.with dual motor's.just the steering box though.I think they are 3-4 turn's on the steering ratios. |
