hey anyone know how to solve this problem???... im not too worried about it but if i can raise it to where it looks like it did before ill do it.

(bumper dropped from body lift)

not sure what the bumper height requirements are in florida either... ill have to look em up.

is there rear bumber brackets or something for it? any other ideas?

and just being curios here... how much more lift will i need to fit 35" tires, cuz 35's would be pretty nice, not sure if the truck will lose power or anything tho...

There are two options for your rear bumper... You can either use a gap pan, or you can use new bumper brackets to raise it. There's a really great shop in Florida you can call and ask questions about the laws, parts to get, etc. Call (813) 264-7122 (XTreme Jeep Sales and Service in Tampa) and ask for Rob Stapleton - be sure to tell him that Rick Webster sent you.

As far as going to 35's - you're really going to have to open the wallet on that one. In addition to the new lift (likely a suspension lift, unless you get really Redneck on us), you'll have to spring for new gears and tires.

If it were my truck, and I was on a tight budget (which I usually am), I would get some wear out of the 33's for now and enjoy your new ground clearance. Going to 35's will really suck the power out of your truck and put a LOOOOOTTTTT of stress on your drivetrain. Oh yeah, you'll likely have to upgrade your brakes too, if you want to do it right.

Hope I'm not a buzz-kill!

Rick

I would get a gap filler and leave bumper where it is now.

where would i buy one?

thats what i wanted to do (didnt know if they were even made, but i kinda figured they were out there.) because if i raised the bumper i might be violating a law, and if i raised it, it would show the spare quite a bit, and probably more frame.

Worst case senario, any sheet metal shop could make you one up and even out of stainless steel if you want too.

And if you raised the bumper, a bolt on receiver hitch would hang down further below it and stick out like a sore thumb!

Performance Accessories should have a gap guard for the bumper for your application.

i cant find it, and from what i understand is that theres only front gap guards for the truck they dont make rear gap guards either. i was thinking of buyin some... the front doesnt look to bad, but the exaust manifold is kinda exposed, so i guess i should get some. i wanted to get back gap guards as well but i dont think they sell them.

and i havent even seen any rear bumper brackets either.

i guess im gunna have take the truck up to 4 wheel parts and see if they can help me out, id love to hear that theres a bumper filler out for my truck.

they should be able to find what you need man. you can always just buy rear gap guards for something else of about the same size. You can easily cut polyurethane and drill the holes in it for the attatchment screws.
