You indeed did miss one.
The M151 series vehicle should have been at or near the very top of your list for sure.
The M151, M151A1 and M151A2 has the longest service period of all US MIlitary 1/4 ton ground vehicles.
Designed by Ford Motor Company in the late 1950's and went into mass production in January of 1960. In 1963-1965 Willys Kaiser shared the contract, and then Ford held the contrat until 1978.
AM General picked up the contract from 1978 until 1990.
The M151A2 series vehicle was used in Vietnam, Panama, Desert Storm and is still used during ground combat operations as a modified (FAV) in Afaganistan and Iraq.
M151 and M151A1's had sharp turn roll over problems on hard top surfaces due to IRS design flaws . The M151A2 was redesigned using a trailing arm IRS in 1970 and the Roll over problems were eliminated.
Their were many modifications made from 1960 until the end of the production line, including the (ROPS)Roll over protection system or roll cage addition.
Unlike all other Jeep designs the M151 series had as mentioned before IFS and IRS and was a Uni-body/uniframe design.
Was airlift capable including the M416 trailer.
