Hey Bluecollar - the lift kit shouldn't have caused any steering radius problems, since it's just a simple leaf spring lift.

Did you go with wider tires, or change wheels when you lifted your truck? My guess is that perhaps your tires are rubbing and preventing you to turn the wheel all of the way, OR whoever installed the lift, ran the jam nuts out too far in an effort to keep the front u-joints under less stress due to the larger tires.

Actually Webby, its an ad-a-leaf and 3" block lift. I know, I know....its not the safest, but it also didnt cost me an arm and a leg. The reason for lifting it in the first was b/c my tires were rubbing

a 3" block isn't too bad. It's those guys that stack a 2" block on top of a 3" block, on top of a 4" block that scare the hell out of me. ;)

Anyhow, the question still stands.. Are the tires still rubbing and preventing the wheel from turning full lock, or... did the installer run out the jam nuts?

If its not one of those two items, I'm at a real loss. I don't know how a small lift like that could possibly cause the steering radius to get bigger all of a sudden.

In essence when you lift the front of any vehicle, and don't add a dropped pitman arm you shorten the throw of the drag link. As soon as you add any angle at all to the drag link it shortens the throw, so you basically limit the turning radius. The steeper the angle of the drag link, the shorter the turning radius. For every degree that the drag link goes above the tie rod, you loose the same amount of steering radius, because instead of the drag link pusing side to side, it is now pushing at a downward angle which reduces its effective ability to move side to side. I hope this makes sense.

one more question for yall. I obviously need a dropped pitman arm, but do I also need a new drag link as well?

Not if the dropped pitman arm's drop is matched to the lift.
