I have a 1995 chevy k1500 z71 that I do some off roading in. I was wondering what ib. winch should I get for this truck?, another big problem is how can I mount a winch on this truck without spending more money on the winch mount than the winch it self?, is there anyway that I can mount the winch directly to the frame under the bumper?, I have been looking around for the best deal on a winch and I found on eBay a 12000 lb. Gorilla winch for $350, do you know anything about that?, and also what is the best winch for the money if I dont want to spend much more than $500
Thanks

Welcome to the boards!
A cheap, good winch... hmmm... you'll probably have better luck finding that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
When it comes to winches, you get exactly what you pay for. And, there's a good reason why good winches are so much more expensive than the really cheap ones. Even the namebrand winches that sell really cheap (e.g. MileMarker, Smittybilt, etc.) are all made in China with really crappy parts, with little to no attention paid to tolerances or QA. In short, you'll use them a few times, then throw it away (trust us, we've tested a few of them). The off-brand ones are typically even worse.
If you're on a tight budget, I'd strongly suggest trying to find a Warn winch that is in need of a rebuild. You can usually find a broken Warn winch for $100 or cheaper. As long as the body and the drum are in good shape, the rest can be rebuilt for a hundred bucks or so, and you'll have yourself a brand-new Warn winch for very little money.
As far as the winch mount goes, you can indeed mount it between the framerails - I've seen this done twice now, but it did require some custom fabrication and welding.
P.S. Nice lookin' truck!
