| I would to put a set of 31x10.5x15 tires on my truck. Do I have to lift my truck and if so where can I purchase one?
If possible can I only lift it about 2 inches? And is it easy to do or should I have a expereinced mechcanic do it? |

From what I have found for a 1995 Dakota is the following:
1. 31x10.5 will fit (with a little rubbing possible off road)
2. Trailmaster is the only manufacturer of lift kits for the old body style. They are about $1400.00 and will keep the driveline angles at factory specs.
Good Luck

My Durango rocks!! The gas mileage sucks, but who needs an ozone layer anyway!!! :)
I want bigger tires on it though to beef it up (already have the large size on it), but I dont want to make it look stupid. Any suggestions?
Hay Jeff,
You can't go any bigger than the stock big tires unless you lift it. There are body lifts out right now for most all Durangos. If you have a 2000 or newer one, you will have to wait. With the switch to a rack-n-pinion steering in 2000, there are no lift kits available yet. Whiplash suspension will have a kit out very soon, I was told by next month. It's pretty expensive though. It will set you back about $2,500. But with that you could put up to 36" tires. I have a 2000 Durango and will be lifting it as soon as the kit is available. If you want to see what it will look like, go to rockymountainsuspension.com
Good luck. |
