Progressive Suspension LL-510 Lever Lock

When it comes to personal property, there are two eternal truths. First, you should do everything you can to protect your property. Second, no matter what you do, if someone wants your property bad enough, they are going to take it. This may sound fatalistic, but the good news is there are things you can do to help protect your property. If you absolutely can’t stop a thief, your goal should be to slow him down as much as possible. If he wants it, he is going to get it, but a thief will usually take the path of least resistance. If there are two ATV’s sitting side by side, a thief will try and steal the one that is easier to take.

That being said, there are several things you can do to help make your ATV a less inviting target to would-be thieves. The first and easiest thing you can do is remove your key when you park your ride. Whether it is parked at a parking area, in an ATV park, or safely tucked away in your garage, removing the key will help prevent someone from simply starting your rig and riding off into the sunset with it. Needless to say, you have to be careful where you store your key once you remove it; a zippered pocket is your best bet. . If you are out hunting and you loose your key, you may be in for a long hike back to the truck.

Unfortunately, unlike cars, ATV’s are pretty easy to hotwire, and unlike motorcycles, most ATV’s lack a handlebar lock mechanism. That is where the LL-510 Lever Lock from Progressive Suspension comes in. Unlike chains or cables, this little device takes up almost no space.

To use the Progressive Suspension Lever Lock, simply place it on the handlebar, hook it over the brake lever, then squeeze the brake lever while setting the lock with your finger. It sounds complicated, but it is actually very easy and only takes a couple of seconds. Once set, it is not possible to roll wheels. To remove simply insert the key, turn, and the device pops right off. You are now ready to roll.

Yes, it is still possible to steal an ATV that is secured with a Lever Lock. A thief could simply lift the unit onto a trailer or they could even saw off the brake handle. Remember though, it is all about slowing a thief down, and for around $50.00, the Progressive Suspension Lever Lock will make a thief look for an easier target.
