American Suzuki Launches the New King of Sport/Utility ATVs
with its Flagship KingQuad® 700

The KingQuad 700 takes the throne as the biggest, boldest ATV in the sport/utility class

BREA, Calif. (August 2004) - American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) has launched its most impressive ATV ever—the high-performance KingQuad® 700.  This new four-stroke flagship model is the only big-bore ATV in the sport/utility class to combine an abundance of rider-pleasing features, superior power and performance, immediate response and durability—all at a competitive MSRP.

“Today’s ATV riders want more power, more comfort and more convenience from their ATV than ever before,” said Glenn Hansen, Suzuki motorcycle and ATV advertising and press relations manager.  “Suzuki has responded with the new KingQuad 700 which comes complete with the most requested high-performance features ever assembled on a big-bore machine.”

More than 15 years ago, Suzuki made history as the first company to introduce the four-wheel ATV and the first KingQuad.  The orginal KingQuad began its rule in 1991 as a revolutionary ATV revered for its riding comfort and utility performance.  In honor of the popularity and prestige of this early model, Suzuki has built an all-new flagship ATV bearing the KingQuad name.

The KingQuad 700 is powered by a 695cc fuel-injected, four-stroke engine with a bore-and-stroke of 102mm x 85mm.  The big bore helps this four-stroke develop abundant torque, especially in the low- to mid-rpm range.  The high-performance engine boasts plenty of power, quick throttle response and durability.

“The KingQuad 700 has been created with ‘Suzuki DNA,’ which represents a blend of advanced technology, uncompromising power, precise handling and outstanding value.  Specifically, the KingQuad’s electronic fuel-injection system (EFI) has been adapted from the championship-winning GSX-R sportbike,” said Hansen.

Advantages of EFI include excellent riding range, advanced throttle response and smoother engine power.  Electronic fuel-injection also provides more reliable and consistent starting in cold- and hot-weather conditions.

The KingQuad 700 features a continuously variable automatic transmission, and a three-mode drivetrain with two-wheel drive, four-wheel drive and front differential-locked four-wheel drive.

Built around an all-new high-tensile steel frame, the KingQuad’s suspension is fully independent—each wheel rides smoothly on adjustable shock absorbers.  It’s designed to maintain the necessary rigidity of a hard-working utility ATV yet is still a lightweight and easily manageable recreational four-wheeler.

The KingQuad 700 carries on the aggressive sport/utility look found in other members of the Suzuki QuadRunner® family, like the Vinson 500 and the QuadSport Z400.  With its high-arched fenders, dual multi-reflector headlights and three bold colors¾Champion Yellow, Flame Red and Shooting Green¾the Suzuki KingQuad 700 combines sporty appeal with utility strength.
